Invited by NWS Holdings Limited, the Association joined NWS Career Navigator For Youth, a four-year project providing career planning workshops, corporate visits, mentors’ guidance, career talks, mock interviews and career counseling to high school students in Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing District.
The programme kicked off at the NWS Caring Day 2017 on February 18 and more than 300 people joined the career experiencing activities. HKYWCA organised tours for participants to visit workplaces of different industries, including construction, public transport, retail, exhibition, food and beverage, social services, etc. Participants were active and completed a variety of industry-related tasks with school teachers and volunteers from NWS Holdings. They agreed that exploring workplaces let them understand the breadth of opportunity available, and realise the quality they need to cultivate to enhance their employability.
NWS Career Navigator For Youth is organized by NWS Holdings in collaboration with three NGOs including HKYWCA, while the Hong Kong Council of Social Service serves as a consultant and is commissioned to conduct a comprehensive social impact assessment of the programme. The second batch of F.4 students will join the programme in the coming September. The Association will design appropriate workshops and visits for students at different stages in order to meet their needs.
