The 10th anniversary of the annual Cantonese Opera Show

Hip Hing-Vibro Volunteer Team hosted the Cantonese Opera Show 2017 in Ko Shan Threatre last month. More than 700 elders from the Association’s Elderly Service Department were invited to enjoy the “Purple Hairpin”. Mr. Stephen Sui, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare was one of the officiating guests.

The Hip Hing-Vibro Volunteer Team composed of volunteers from Hip Hing Construction and Vibro (H.K) Limited has been supporting HKYWCA’s elderly services for years. The Cantonese Opera Show is one of the long term collaboration projects and reaches the 10th anniversary in 2017. The volunteers coordinated the initial preparation work and the logistics matters on the event day. They also helped to receive the elders from different districts including Sham Shui Po, Tsing Yi, Fanling, etc. at the Ko Shan Theatre. The elderly people were excited in joining the events and had a happy weekend.

The Association is grateful for the support from Hip Hing-Vibro Volunteer Team. The opera show did not only provide entertainment, but also encourage the aged to engage in social activities and meet new friends, which echoes to the Association’s advocacy of active ageing.
