HKYWCA organised Jockey Club “Plan & Go” Active Ageing Programme for young retirees

Sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, a three-year project named Jockey Club “Plan & Go” Active Ageing Programme has been launched for young retirees, and a kick-off ceremony with the theme “50+ dream together” was held earlier. 

The Association is honoured to have Ms. Leung Oi Lin, Winnie, Acting Assistant District Social Welfare Officer (Kowloon City / Yau Tsim Mong) of Social Welfare Department, Mr. Horace Lit, Senior Charities Manager of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mr. Wong Hak Lim, Chairman of Honorary Member of Hong Kong Professional Teacher’s Union, Dr. Fong Yuk Fai, President of Hong Kong College of Community Health Practitioners, Mr. Fung Ho Yin, Executive Director of Hong Kong Open Printshop and Mr. Damian Yip, Head of Marketing Programmes of Investor Education Centre to officiate at the ceremony. 

The guests placed the seven key elements of the programme onto the backdrop, and shouted the slogan with the participants to kick off the event. Mr. Francis Mak, a veteran journalist and Mr. Joe Junior, a renowned performer later joined Dr. Fong and Mr. Wong to share their lives after retirement. They agreed that “Plan and Go” – to plan ahead before putting into practice - is important for a satisfying retirement life. 

Jockey Club “Plan & Go” Active Ageing Programme encourages young-old to live a meaningful and happy retirement. Participants can take part in innovative activities and expand their social circles. Having discovered their talents and interests, they can then develop a comprehensive plan about what they want to do and who they want to be for the coming years.
