HKYWCA and Elite Athletes visited the underprivileged

Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association (HKEAA) and HKYWCA co-organised “Together We Care 2017”. More than 1,800 volunteers brought love and care to elders and low income families.

HKYWCA volunteers visited 2,500 elders and low income families in 14 districts, with a number of elite athletes, including Lau Mo Sheung, the top karateka in Hong Kong, Wong Hiu Ying, bronze medalist in women's vault at the Universiade, Chan Ho Ling, silver medalist in squash at the World Games etc. They chatted to know more about the needy and their living conditions. They also presented the gift packs filled with food and necessities to pass the caring message to the families.

The Association continued to emphasise the value of “Just‧Simple” through the programme this year. It encouraged an unadorned life to reduce waste. Volunteers took up the responsibility to promote environmental friendly concepts, and by serving the people in need, helped alleviate poverty.
