50 units joined HKYWCA Creative Market@HKCC

HKYWCA Shatin Integrated Social Service Centre organised the 6th Creative Market at the HKCC Piazza, carring the theme “HK Maker+”. It aimed at fostering novelty and creativity for local teenager artists, and attracted 50 teams of participants.
The market served as a platform for talents to showcase their creativity, and to learn how to operate and manage a business. A wide variety of products and services were available, including accessories, leather products, art pieces, henna etc. Many tourists and citizens were attracted by the products and enjoyed shopping in the market. The talents said that a lot of visitors purchased their products which helped them to build confidence.

To encourage more teenagers to develop their creativity, 6 schools were invited to join the market. Some of them were participants of another youth business programme called “Handmade your life”, which was also hosted by HKYWCA. They received training and planned their business in the past six months, and at last executed their plan in the market. The students thought that it was a great opportunity to learn how to run a business, which included product creation, communication skills, problem solving techniques, budget control, promotion etc.

Besides, youth bands gave excellent performance to show their passion and talent, which fascinated the visitors.
